This project was created based on a cooperation between LINAK Finland and the Aalto University, School of Arts, Design and Architecture in Helsinki, Finland. The idea was to design a novel piece of furniture where movement by LINAK® electric actuators, would play a role in its functionality. Five works were chosen to be manufactured as prototypes.
One of these was “Mushrooms in the Rain”, which is an height adjustable open-plan space generator. It is flexible and the setup changes according to your need. It can be used as a spare bed, a sofa, benches, as well as a working and dining room table. The project was presented in Helsinki Design Week 2015.
